Styrofoam recycling FAQs

Yes, in collaboration with our processing partners, we accept styrofoam for recycling.

Styrofoam, being non-biodegradable, can persist in the environment for centuries, posing risks to wildlife and ecosystems. Recycling it not only conserves resources but also promotes the use of recycled styrofoam in producing new, environmentally friendly products. This action aligns with sustainability efforts and reduces the ecological footprint associated with styrofoam disposal.

We accept #6 styrofoam and white block styrofoam. We do not accept food containers, colored styrofoam, or dirty styrofoam (containing glue or particulates attached).

To recycle styrofoam, we partner with Engineered Foam Packaging (EFP) out of Elkhart Indiana.

Recycled styrofoam undergoes a process where it is broken down and cleaned to remove impurities. Then, it’s often melted and formed into pellets, which can be used to produce new styrofoam products or repurposed into items like picture frames, architectural molding, and more. This recycling process helps reduce waste, conserves resources, and minimizes the environmental impact of styrofoam disposal by transforming it into useful products.
