Plastic tricycle recycling FAQs
Why recycle your old or unwanted plastic tricycles?
Kids’ tricycles are often made of durable plastics that can take hundreds of years to decompose in landfills. Many municipal recycling programs cannot process these large, bulky items, leading to unnecessary waste. Recycling your plastic tricycle helps recover valuable materials and keeps plastic out of landfills, supporting a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.
What happens to recycled plastic tricycles?
Recycled plastic tricycles are dismantled, and the plastic components are cleaned, shredded, and processed into pellets. These pellets can then be repurposed to manufacture new products, reducing the need for virgin plastic. Metal or additional non-plastic components, if present, are separated and recycled appropriately to minimize waste.
What types of plastic tricycles do you recycle?
We accept fully plastic tricycles, such as traditional hard-plastic ride-on trikes for kids. Tricycles with significant metal or motorized components are not eligible for this program.
If you’re unsure whether your tricycle qualifies, feel free to contact us for clarification or alternative recycling options.
